Hunkering Down

Hi Dear Readers!

I hope this post finds you and brings you joy, insight, and/or action steps for defeating the Diabolical Forces in the Universe (DFUs). I felt SO MUCH JOY yesterday...to the point where I was concerned I might be having a hypomanic episode. I can't explain where it came from, but it felt good.

Yesterday was also ACTION PACKED. And that wasn't a cause or an effect of my hyper-joy state. Deborah and I took my parents to the Garver Feed Mill and perused the vendors at the Winter Farmer's Market, scoring a veritable bounty of goodies - some specialty mushrooms, vegan strawberry-rhubarb bars, bagels, some flowers, and maybe a couple of other things that are escaping my mind right now.

After the Farmer's Market, we cruised over the the Green Owl vegan cafe for delicious vegan lunch. Deborah and I went to the gym after we dropped my parents back at their house, and I got a decent set of weight lifting in. I also got a short Peloton workout in when we got back home (for the aerobics). I spent the remainder of the afternoon meal prepping - vegan quiche and a HUGE salad - for the week.

I was joyously spent after all of that and slept HARD last night.

This morning, I expediently got the dogs out for their morning walk ahead of the massive winter storm that is barreling across the state today. Thankfully (I think...), most of the storm will be rain for most of the day, but then the temperatures plummet and we are expecting massive snowfall overnight into Monday. So...I am hunkering down. It's a Sunday, so I am just going to chillax and enjoy myself with indoor activities, which will comprise eating a breakfast of cereal - with maple syrup, flax seed, blueberries, and nut milk - a long Peloton workout, and assorted other leisure activities as they come to mind.

Post Holiday Post

Hi Dear Readers!

I hope this blog post finds you and brings you joy, insight, and/or action steps for defeating the Diabolical Forces in the Universe (DFUs).

I had a pretty spectacular long holiday weekend, following a pretty spectacularly long work day prior to it. On Thanksgiving Thursday morning, I prepped some food for the family feast later in the day (starting at noon at my folks' house). This comprised baking a couple of vegan mock turkey roasts along with some assorted vegetables. We also had some pies, ice cream, and whipped cream in the freezer that we took along to my folks' house.

When we got to my folks' house, my sister and her family were already there. We set about heating up food and then ate it, followed by some board gaming, before heading home. Friday was a super chillaxed "do nothing"day at home, until we visited Deborah's son's family in the evening for more board gaming. A blizzard arrived on Saturday, resulting in another totally chillaxed and laid back day, punctuated only by the occasional shoveling of snow to create a path across our back deck to the yard, so that our dogs could do their business occasionally.

Sunday morning necessitated a snow blowing session. The snowblower started up easily and I made short work of the approximately one foot of fairly fluffy snow. Later in the morning, Deborah and I went to the gym - by way of some errands - to lift weights for 30 minutes. I had GUPPY EFFECT duo band practice in the afternoon with Stefan. Then I just chillaxed some more.

How was your holiday weekend? Leave a COMMENT below.
